Draw Near to God
Most people live for the world and its things (its money, relationships, possessions, prestige, etc). According to the Bible, such a person is ‘an enemy of God’ who lives in a state of ‘hostility with God’ (James 4:4). To be in this condition of enmity with God is tragic; such a person is under His wrath and judgement now and has only eternal punishment and condemnation to look forward to in eternity.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
God’s sacrificed and risen Son is the bridge over the obstacles and across the distance standing in the way of an intimate relationship with God. Through what Christ has done – and continues to do – estranged men and women can move toward God and experience His loving Fatherhood.
This is what James meant when he said, ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you’ (James 4:8). God has done everything – from deliver up His own Son to death to sending the message of that sacrifice throughout the entire world so that you could hear about it – to make a relationship with Him available to you.
The ball is now in your court.
If you desire an intimate relationship with God, He is eagerly waiting for you.
Make your move.
