Praise Forever
Read Psalm 145:1-2
God is forever. His will endures forever. His glory lasts forever. His holiness is forever. His love, goodness and kindness are forever. His people are forever people. Forever and ever, we will be the objects of His love and affection and God will be the object of our praise and thanksgiving. We will praise God forever. We praise Him daily. We will joyfully praise Him forever.
The Message translation of Psalm 145:1-2 reads this way: “I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! And I’ll bless your name into eternity. I’ll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity.” Our calling includes thinking highly of God daily and speaking well of God daily. We will keep it up from now to eternity.
Walter Brueggemann wrote, “Praise is the duty and delight, the ultimate vocation of the human community; indeed, of all creation. Yes, all of life is aimed toward God and finally exists for the sake of God. Praise articulates and embodies our capacity to yield, submit, and abandon ourselves in trust and gratitude to the One whose we are. Praise is not only a human requirement and a human need; it is also a human delight. We have a resilient hunger to move beyond self, to return our energy and worth to the One from whom it has been granted. In our return to that One, we find our deepest joy.”
